The applications range from condensed matter physics, biophysics, and new mathematical approaches, to modern computational methods and machine learning.  The inspiration for this collection comes from the fundamental contributions of Serge Aubry, who celebrates his 80th birthday soon. Phenomena, ideas and models — such as the "transition by breaking of analyticity," the "anticontinuous limit," discrete breathers, bipolarons, targeted energy transfer, chemical reactions, molecular motors, etc. — may play a central role in the submitted contributions. The papers in this collection are expected to celebrate Serge Aubry's contributions to physics, as well as show how these ideas are now incorporated in the main branches of physics and will affect the future of complex systems.
