Learn more about Prof. Zhao's research interests and publications | No Article Processing Charges (APCs) for submissions through December 31, 2025 | New Gold Open Access Journal | | | | Meet Our New Associate Editor, Prof. Jin Zhao | I'm excited to join APL Computational Physics as an Associate Editor because it offers a dynamic platform to promote cutting-edge advances in computational methods and their application to emergent physical phenomena—an area that closely aligns with my research passion. I look forward to contributing to the journal's mission and supporting the scientific community. | | Jin Zhao University of Science and Technology of China | | | | | Jin Zhao is a professor of physics in the University of Science and Technology of China. The focus of her research is ab initio investigation on the dynamics of excited carriers in condensed matter systems. She combines methods of many-body perturbation theory with molecular dynamics to model the coupled ultrafast time scale charge, spin, and lattice quantum interactions in condensed matter and quantum materials within the shared Hefei-nonadiabatic molecular dynamics (Hefei-NAMD) code. She is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2021), the China Young Female Scientist Award (2023), and is an elected Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) (2023).
We are honored to welcome Prof. Zhao as associate editor of APL Computational Physics. We invite you to browse her selected publications and learn more about her and the esteemed editorial board. | | | SELECT ARTICLES AUTHORED BY PROF. ZHAO |

| We believe there has never been a more important time to stand firm in support of independent, open science. We work hand-in-hand with the global scientific community to safeguard the integrity of science. We ensure fair and rigorous peer-review of all published manuscripts, follow COPE guidelines for publication ethics, and work with the STM Integrity Hub to protect and preserve the integrity and ethical standards that serve as the bedrock of high-quality scholarly communications.
These are just a few of the ways in which AIP Publishing lives up to the promise we made to the global research community when we joined with the American Physical Society and IOP Publishing to form Purpose-Led Publishing, a coalition committed to the simple idea that science is our only shareholder. |
