This Special Issue also allows us to celebrate, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, the many scientific achievements of Ernst Maria Rasel, a pioneer in this field. | This special issue aims to explore the experimental and theoretical developments, as well as the wide-ranging applications of matter wave physics, reflecting on their evolution from an illustration of wave-particle dualism to providing the basis of several novel and sophisticated disciplines of optics. These include but are not limited to coherent optics, non-linear optics, quantum atom optics, and matter wave interferometry, all contributing significantly to precision measurements. | Moreover, this special issue incorporates discussions on emerging hot topics by fostering a rich exchange of ideas and discoveries, encouraging a deeper understanding of matter wave optics and inspiring continued innovation in this captivating domain.
