Meet Our New Editor-in-Chief, Réjean Boivin | I have a life-long passion for scientific instruments and I have always believed innovative measurements can open new doors in our scientific understanding while supporting new technologies that help people and society at large. Being the new editor-in-chief of Review of Scientific Instruments enables me to stimulate excitement in building great instruments and serving as a conduit for sharing the community's successes. | - Réjean Boivin Former Director of the Center of Excellence for Advanced Diagnostics at General Atomics, San Diego, USA | | | | | Dr R.L. Boivin has been involved in the science and technology of fusion for more than 35 years, with a strong emphasis on the development of diagnostics and other technologies. He has been involved in many large experiments in the United States, at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (TFTR), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Alcator C-Mod) and General Atomics (DIII-D, ITER). He has been a leader in developing new approaches to diagnose plasmas, including but not limited to the measurement of fusion products (neutrons, alphas), neutral particles, radiated power (bolometry), spectroscopy and many others.
