Freeze period to begin on April 9
As we get closer to the launch of our new digital platform, we're reaching out to you as a registered user of the current platform. You could be a registered user because you subscribe to one of the journals, books, or magazines published by AIP Publishing and its publishing partners, because you have signed up for email alerts, or due to your membership in ASA, AAPM, AAPT, AAS, ACA, AMS, APS, AVS, Optica, or SOR, the members of which receive Physics Today as a benefit. There are important changes and steps you need to know about during the transition period. | Freeze Period for Updating Profiles
As early as April 9 and lasting through the end of April, we will be placing a freeze on user profile updates, including personal details, email alert subscriptions and opt in status. If you have any changes you need to make to your profile, please enter them before April 8 at 11 pm EDT. Note that all users will have to create a new password when we move to the new platform. | Post-Migration Password Changes
All users — regardless of whether they make any profile changes before the April 9 freeze — will be required to change their password after the platform migration. Please note the email address from which platform notifications are sent will be changing to help@aippubs.org, which will be the address you receive mail from when you change your password. Be sure to add this email address to your safe senders list. | Streamlined Access to Journal Content and News
In the interest of simplifying management of your alerts, we will be merging the newsletter and TOC lists into a single automated alert choice for each journal – the Journal Issue and News Alert. This change will happen automatically at launch, and you do not need to take any action. There are no planned changes to Topic alerts or Physics Today alerts. Automated alerts about journal content will come from aip-info.org after the migration. | Saved Searches
Our platform will continue to offer the ability to save a search within your profile. However, the searches saved on our existing platform will not transfer over to the new platform. You may want to make note of any searches you've saved prior to the freeze period so you can set up the same search on our new platform at launch. | Please review our Frequently Asked Questions for additional details about the changes. We know some of these changes might be inconvenient, and we apologize, but they are necessary moves as we complete the changeover. We cannot wait for you to see the improved user experience and accessibility of this new digital platform. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out at help@aip.org. | The Team at AIP Publishing and Physics Today | | | | | | Follow us on social media
